QuadX®
Equine Strength and Conditioning
Do you want to improve your horse/pony's way of going and performance and, more importantly, reduce your horse/pony's chance of injury?
QuadX® Equine Strength and Conditioning is a method which uses various frameworks and exercises (both static and dynamic) to strengthen and condition your horse/pony for ridden work. The method can be integrated into your horse/pony's training programme to reduce the chance of injury and improve performance.
The QuadX® Method has been devised by Katie Lawrence (who is a Veterinary Physiotherapist) following her many years of working in (and teaching) equine rehabilitation. Using the current advances in equine science and equine rehabilitation, Katie has created a method which enables your horse/pony to undertake his/her own strength and conditioning journey.
As a QuadX® Coach, I will carry out static and dynamic assessments with your horse/pony to identify your horse/pony's areas of weakness and/or movement irregularities. From there, I will develop an exercise plan specifically for your horse/pony, and will guide you through a tailored programme to help your horse/pony develop in the correct way. Depending on your horse/pony's individual needs, you will have weekly/bi weekly sessions for 6/12 weeks or more, where I will carry out re-evaluations and develop the next stage of the plan.
In addition to improving your horse/pony's way of going, performance, and reducing the chance of injury, the Method will also improve your horse/pony's ability to carry you. Using a QuadX® Strength and Conditioning Coach will help you to develop a strong, flexible and happy horse.
However, the work is down to you! The success of the Strength and Conditioning programme will depend on you following the plan / the exercises set by me which you will be required to undertake on a daily basis between sessions (the exercises, which will consist of both static and dynamic exercises, will take approximately 45 minutes each day). Following the plan will enable your horse/pony to progress gradually and consistently. There is no such thing as a "quick fix" when it comes to correct exercise for horses, but with patience and commitment it is possible to change your horse/pony's whole way of moving and give him/her the best possible chance of a happy, comfortable ridden life!
